The role

 

The Underwriting & Claims Assurance Technician plays a crucial role in the Business Assurance team, executing control strategies, supporting business goals, and providing assurance to regulators and stakeholders. This role involves delivering underwriting and claims control frameworks that align with our strategic and financial objectives. Success requires collaborating with other business functions to leverage capabilities and deliver top-tier propositions to our market.

 

Key responsibilities

 

  • Supporting our underwriting and claims control strategies, ensuring that they are executed in a way which is fully aligned to our business strategy and satisfies the requirements of our regulators.
  • Assist in ensuring that initiative change for Underwriting and Claims delivers targeted benefit.
  • Be aware of the introduction of new suppliers/delegated authorities and participate in due diligence and related set-up activity.
  • Completion of the annual Audit Plan covering Supplier and Delegated Authority audits
  • Audit and attestations of Underwriting Exceptions and Authorities and Claims Control and Exceptions.
  • Understanding the risk environment in which we operate. Identifying and managing the keys risks which threaten the success and sustainability of our business.
  • Maintaining the provisions of our internal underwriting and claims authority frameworks.

 

 

Essential qualifications, skills and experience

 

  • Attention to detail and a passion for investigation and troubleshooting.
  • Good data and analytical skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills which will allow you to build and maintain value adding relationships.
  • Understanding of the principles relating to risk management.

 

 

 

Desirable behavioural attributes

 

  • In depth knowledge of conduct risk and associated requirements such as they may relate to Claims Administrator service provisions e.g. TCF, Data Protections, etc.
  •  
  • Knowledge of IQUW’s products, methods of trading and the operating models employed by our brokers.
  • Effective Communication Skills to demonstrate clarity of purpose which will give confidence to stakeholders, both internally and externally.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills which will allow you to build and maintain value adding relationships.
